Sammy Rae & The Friends Kick Off 2022 Tour With Vibrant New Single

On Friday, Sammy Rae & The Friends released an exciting new single ‘Follow Me Like The Moon.’ The single is the groups first new song since January of 2021, and became a crowd favorite in their electric 2021 live shows. Sammy Rae & The Friends proved to be a premiere live act in their 2021 run of inclusive and communal live shows. The beautiful vocals of Sammy Rae combine with the vibrant horns and echoing percussions from the friends for an incredible sonic experience.

In a matter of days the band will take the road for the “Follow Me To The Moon Tour” beginning in front of the 1,700 capacity City National Grove of Anaheim. The tour is set to be well attended with five straight sold-out shows on the west coast. Playing in cities that they have never played before, fans are already flocking to see the inclusive eight piece band.

The name of the tour matches the title of their new single, and of the song Sammy Rae says:

“Follow Me Like The Moon” is a dancey, laugh-at-itself song about the thoughts that linger on us all through life. Romantic feelings, fear, addiction…it examines how we are shaped and changed by the things we can’t seem to “shake off” or “sleep off.” It features celestial keyboards and raw hand percussion, a dexterous tenor saxophone solo doubled by synthesizer, and a lush grand piano outro.

For as much as Sammy Rae & The Friends may be a band, this diverse collective of musicians, dreamers, and artists considers itself a family first. The group flourishes in any spotlight with a combination of all-for-one and one-for-all camaraderie, palpable chemistry, deft virtuosity, and vocal fireworks. When they come to your city, you should want to be there. See the full tour schedule on their website.
