We are less than a week away from the highly anticipated Gov Ball 2022. Governor’s Ball will be taking over New York City on June 10-12th, and while they will be a destination for music fans, it will also be a destination for foodies alike. With an absolutely stacked music and food lineup we are thrilled to share our Must Sees and Must Eats at Gov Ball 2022.
Music Must Sees at Gov Ball
First and Foremost, we will bring you our must sees from the stacked festival lineup. The headliners Kid Cudi, Halsey, and J. Cole are givens on a must see list, so we will not be listing them in this as where they are on the festival poster confirms the fact that they are a ‘must see.’
beabadoobee
beabadoobee is currently opening for Halsey on her arena tour, she has received love from Taylor Swift, and accumulated nearly 5 million global streams. It is no wonder the artist is one of the fastest-growing in the entire music industry. You can’t be at Gov Ball and not see this act. Her next album Beatopia is out July 15th and already gaining national attention. Fans can expect to hear fan favorites from Bea, as well as songs from her upcoming album. Come see this Friday 3:30 set, because one day there’s a good chance you will be seeing her headlining a festival like this.
BETWEEN FRIENDS
BETWEEN FRIENDS has hits. The music they create is incredible. They are the perfect way to start your weekend on Friday at 12:30 on the Bacardi Stage. The duo recently released an impressive new single ‘laurel’ which is part of their newest project cutie which is set to be fully released on June 10th, the same day they are performing. Come celebrate the release of their project which is equal parts EP and modern art installation and inspired by the visuals behind 90’s MTV and Nickelodean.
Aly & AJ

I mean. Seeing Aly & AJ on a festival stage feels like a no brainer. The sisters will be taking the GOPUFF STAGE at 1:10 on Friday. Come celebrate the songs from their newest album ‘a touch of the beat…’ which Vogue called “the feel-good album of the summer” and the classics you grew up with.
Black Pumas
Black Pumas is a name that jumped off the Governor’s Ball lineup list for me. They will be taking the GOVBALLNYC STAGE presented by Verizon on Friday at 5:00 pm. How could you miss this Grammy Award winning band on the lineup? We can’t wait to cross them off of our live bucket list.
Jack Harlow
With the rise Jack Harlow has had this year it almost feels weird he is not headlining the festival. That shows the caliber of the Gov Ball 2022 lineup. Seeing him as the sun goes down and setting up for Kid Cudi feels like the perfect night.
Valley
JUNO nominated band and friends of The Road Trip Playlists Podcast, Valley are taking the GOPUFF stage on Saturday at 1:10. I’ve seen them live as an opening act for The Band Camino and became an instant fan. Expect to see a giant crowd of fans and soon to be fans on Saturday afternoon.
Almost Monday
We have Almost Monday as a ‘must see’ because we are giant fans. However, their set time directly conflicts with Valley (above). We will let you make your choice, because really you can’t go wrong. But we were relieved to see that Almost Monday was included in the festival’s After Dark lineup and we can still see them Monday night at Mercury Lounge.
Chelsea Cutler
We only saw one song of Chelsea Cutler as a guest at Noah Kahan’s show in New York City, and from that couldn’t not have her on our ‘must see’ list. You can’t miss your chance to see Chelsea Cutler. Catch her at the GoPuff stage at 5:20 on Saturday afternoon. You may even see an appearance from frequent collaborated Quinn XCII who will also be at the festival performing.
Del Water Gap
Del Water Gap is one of the names that sold us on attending Gov Ball 2022. His rise in the last few years has been incredible to see. As a longtime fan of Del Water Gap we cannot wait to see him at 1:30 on Sunday at the Bacardi Stage. Releasing his self-titled debut LP last fall brought DWG to a new level. This is another name that we would not be surprised if they headlined a festival in the future.
Japanese Breakfast
We saw Japanese Breakfast at Shaky Knees Festival earlier this year and she stole the show. By far one of the most amazing sets of the weekend. Since then JB has been the musical act on Saturday Night Live. Don’t miss your chance to see one of the most electric live acts of the weekend.
Glass Animals
Glass Animals. Must See. That’s it. Do not miss it, and we hope that we don’t have to explain why. Just listen. Then watch.
Must Eats at Gov Ball
Gov Ball 2022 has an incredible food lineup. It has some of New York City’s best food and will be available on the festival grounds. All weekend long festival patrons can refuel with favorite eats from some of the best establishments New York City’s world-renowned food scene has to offer. Roberta’s Pizza, Big Mozz, Van Leeuwen Ice Cream, Sweet Chick, No Good Burger Joint, La Newyorkina, milk & cream cereal bar, Takumi Taco and many more. Roberta’s Pizza
Roberta’s pizza is frequently on many favorite New York City pizza lists and lucky for festival goers they will be present. The pizza shop has many trek all the way to Bushwick to enjoy its amazing flavor, at Gov Ball fans will be able to conveniently enjoy a slice while listening to their favorite band live.
Sweet Chick
I have a Sweet Chick in walking distance of my house. It is a regular stop for a weekend brunch and I feel comforted to know that I can still have one of my favorite spots while at Gov Ball. Don’t miss anything they have on their festival menu.
Big Mozz
If I didn’t already have a website reviewing music, I think I’d have a website dedicated to reviewing mozzarella sticks, and Big Mozz has some of the best. Check out why they are on our festival highlights.
Pizza Cupcake
Have to shout out Pizza Cupcake. I had them as a new startup at a food event in New York City. Their growth has been incredible. It is a fun and delicious treat you must try at Gov Ball.
Milk & Cream Cereal Bar
It’s a hot one this weekend. Cool down with a favorite Milk and Cream Cereal Bar.
These are the only places we have tried that we can verify are must eats. But the options are endless this weekend and you are certain to find a new food and restaurant you will love.
