Kehlani Takes on Budweiser Stage After 5-Year Return to Canada

On Wednesday, August 24, R&B singer-songwriter Kehlani brought on a sweet, sexy, and soulful performance at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage for the first time in five years. With a dynamic set, intricate dances, and smooth vocals, it’s no doubt that Kehlani created a night to remember.

Before Kehlani took to the stage, three artists opened for her, bringing their own flare to each set. The first opener, Destin Conrad, delivered a passionate performance of R&B songs from his evergrowing discography. Rico Nasty then brought on an energetic set with popular songs such as “Smack a Bitch” and “Tia Tamara,” followed by a playful show by DJ Noodz who remixed classic R&B songs.

It wasn’t long until it was Kehlani‘s time to shine on stage. The California native began with “little story,” “shooter interlude,” and “tangerine,” all songs from her newest album, “blue water road.” She then continued with a mix of upbeat and sensual tracks, the audience dancing, singing, and enjoying every minute.

Later in the night, Kehlani sat down alongside her guitarist, describing her next song: “Something changed when I dropped this song, maybe cause it was like the gayest song I ever made… So if it’s cool with y’all, I’m gonna do a song that means a lot to me and I hope it means a lot to you.” The 27-year-old then took things slower with a stunning performance of her acoustic hit “Honey.”

The California native then asked everyone in the audience to get out of their seats and go crazy for her last song (or should we say “CRZY”). Kehlani’s dancers and openers joined her on stage to perform “CRZY,” with everyone both on and off stage jumping around and singing. Overall, Kehlani put on a fantastic show, and we can’t wait to see what she does next.

Kehlani will be performing worldwide for her “Blue Water Road Trip” tour until January 31st, 2022. Get your tickets here, and don’t miss the chance to see her live.
