On Friday night, Joshua Bassett, the 21-year-old singer, performed at his first show on his headlining tour in Toronto. Fans gathered throughout the venue, singing, cheering, and shouting along every line of his songs. Even before the show began, fans screamed in excitement and belted out his songs from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. An audio issue appeared in the middle of his song LA. Despite the setback, Bassett quickly entertained the crowd while technicians were fixing the problem. The show continued, and he performed his hits “Lie Lie Lie,” “Set Me Free,” and even a rendition of “She Will Be Loved” by Maroon 5.
Despite not having released a single album yet, Bassett has gained significant attention in the music industry these last few months. He released in early 2021 an E.P. titled “Joshua Bassett,” in which his singles peaked in the top 30 on the U.S. Bubbling Under Hot 100.
Bassett rose to fame with the hit show High School Musical: The Musical: The Series on Disney+, in which he plays the main lead. Joshua Bassett is set to perform in the following weeks in New York City and Los Angeles.
Overall, the show was a complete success. Bassett delivered a stunning performance, making it a memorable moment for fans.
