Have you ever wanted to dress like Evel Knievel and mess around at the racetrack? I never had until I saw the latest music video from Houndmouth.
Watch as lead singer Matt Myers exits an apartment building mic and guitar case in hand to pack a convertible so small you’re left wondering how it fit in the trunk. The two other Houndmouth bandmates followed, packing drum kits and more in stow.
The video is filled with nostalgia. Myers being fitted in a red, white, and blue jumpsuit and aviator specs and the classic cars bring you back to another time. The visuals aren’t the only nostalgic element of the ‘Las Vegas’ video. The sound is also nostalgic and familiar feeling.
Maybe it was the jumpsuit and race track but the video felt like director Francis Thomasovich’s spin on the cult classic film Hot Rod, only with a better soundtrack. Similar to the film, you wish you were there at the track and a fourth member of the band for this adventure.
Houndmouth is a band that has a track record of incredible visualizers. The video for ‘Las Vegas’ is no different. ‘Las Vegas’ is set to be the vibrant closing track on Houndmouth’s upcoming album Good For You. The upcoming Good For You finds the band providing a soundtrack for the ultimate last call: the graduation from youthful degeneracy to more adult concerns.
Good For You is available for Pre-Order by clicking here. Hear some of the songs from it on the band’s upcoming tour set to kick off in November.
