Cat Clyde And Jeremie Albino Release Debut Album ‘Blue, Blue, Blue’

Canadian singer/songwriters Cat Clyde and Jeremie Albino quickly discovered a shared love of old school folk, country, blues, and soul music. With their shared love of music it became apparent the two should collaborate in some way. Eventually, this led to Clyde joining Albino in his country home in 2019. While each artist was working on an album of their own, late night jam sessions resulted in an adapted covers, which eventually led to the two recording together on Albino’s farm.

What started with an adapted cover of Blind Willie McTell’s blues classic “You [Was] Born To Die,” ultimately led to a full record of classic songs that the two shared a love for. Consisting of 7 covers of their favorite artists as well as 2 original songs (‘Been Worryin’ and ‘Tried and Cried’.) The album, ‘Blue, Blue, Blue‘ perfectly blends together the sounds Clyde and Albino love. That of blues, Americana, and soul. The two create a beautiful and nostalgic sound in a record that is a must-listen.

The collaboration between Cat Clyde and Jeremie Albino was released by Cinematic Music Group. The pair also released a music video of “What Am I Living For” to accompany the record.

The connection between the two musicians is evident in ‘Blue, Blue, Blue.’ Not only is this album a connection of two talented artist, but it is these artists connecting to the music they grew up with. Clyde spoke of this connection saying, ““It’s nice to share that love of listening to something a hundred times and never getting sick of it. As a musician you travel around a lot and meet a lot of people, but when you meet someone that has a hunger for the same type of musical food, it’s really special.”

Check out the album and feel a connection to musics past as well as two incredible musicians here.

Cat Clyde also joined me on the Road Trip Playlists podcast and told stories of recording on Albino’s farm. Listen to that interview here.
