Beach Bunny Turns Toronto’s History Into a Pink-Tinted Dream

On Wednesday, April 30th, American indie rockers Beach Bunny swept Toronto into their dreamy, 90s-infused world with a night full of pink aesthetics and pure indie rock bliss. Taking the stage shortly after a cheeky a cappella rendition of “O Canada,” the Chicago-based band kicked things off with the fan-favourite “Cloud 9,” followed by “Ms. California” and “Mr. Predictable.”

Though their sound appears to speak more to a younger fanbase, the crowd’s age at Toronto’s show was refreshingly diverse. Whether it was moshing, dancing, or shouting every lyric, everyone in the room was fully present. At one point, frontwoman Lili Trifilio hyped the crowd by saying: “Canada, do we know how to open a pit?!” (Spoiler: they did.)

Visually, the show felt like stepping into a pink-filtered bedroom fantasy: Trifilio’s glittery pink guitar, heart-shaped sunglasses, and whimsical stage decor all worked together to create an atmosphere that radiated soft-yet-bold energy from start to finish. Beach Bunny closed their set with two of their biggest hits: “Prom Queen” and “Painkiller,” ending the night on a high that had everyone screaming the lyrics one last time. It was a performance packed with energy, emotion, and a pure joy – one Toronto won’t be forgetting any time soon.
