The dynamic four-piece rock band, The Beaches, graced the iconic Massey Hall stage in Toronto for the first of two sold-out nights brimming with electrifying performances, thrilling guitar solos, and unmistakable rock n’ roll presence. Their tour, fittingly titled “Blame My Ex” after their recent album of the same name, offers a variety of tracks spanning from heartbreak to enchantment.
Before The Beaches’ Massey Hall debut, the pop-rock ensemble Beach Weather graced the spotlight, delivering a rock extravaganza. Originally hailing from the United States, the band took a moment to express their excitement to perform in Toronto. Delivering an eclectic performance, the group ignited the crowd with tunes ranging from the groovy “Swoon” to the upbeat and fast-paced “Chit Chat.” Following a lively rendition of the crowd-favourite “Sex, Drugs, Etc.,” it was time for The Beaches to take the stage.
After playing “Me & Me,” lovingly referred to as an anthem for the Carrie Bradshaws by the band’s frontrunner, Jordan Miller, the group marvelled at the fact that their bucket list Toronto venue had been graced with two successive sold-out nights. Being Toronto natives, they fondly reminisced about their very first concert at Massey Hall, extending sincere gratitude to their fans.
The night’s highlight was undoubtedly “My Body ft Your Lips,” as Beach Weather joined forces with The Beaches for a sultry and mellow duet. The two bands harmoniously blended together, creating a groovy atmosphere that entranced the audience.
As the night unfolded, the audience revelled in the band’s chart-topping hit “Blame Brett,” a track that had recently achieved gold status. A crowd-favourite amongst fans, the audience was seen dancing along and resonating with its lyrics and melodies. The encore consisted of “Edge of the Earth” and the highly charged “Money,” finishing off the unforgettable evening with a bang.
