Santa Monica, CA – GRAMMY®-winning artist Olivia Rodrigo has announced the release of her much-awaited new album, “GUTS,” set to drop on September 8th via Geffen Records. Following the massive success of her debut album, “SOUR,” which went 4x Platinum and topped the charts worldwide, Rodrigo returns with a fresh collection of songs that delve into the complexities of growing up and finding one’s identity. The album was produced by Daniel Nigro, who previously collaborated with Rodrigo on “SOUR.”

Rodrigo’s dedicated fan base can now pre-order “GUTS” on various formats, including CD, cassette, vinyl, and limited-edition box sets, exclusively at her online store. Vinyl enthusiasts will have the opportunity to choose from four Direct-to-Consumer (D2C) exclusive colors: red, white, blue, and purple, adding a special touch to their collection.

Exploring themes of growth and self-discovery, Rodrigo shared her perspective on the album, saying, “For me, this album is about growing pains and trying to figure out who I am at this point in my life. I feel like I grew 10 years between the ages of 18 and 20—it was such an intense period of awkwardness and change. I think that’s all just a natural part of growth, and hopefully, the album reflects that.”

To give fans a taste of what’s to come, Rodrigo will release the album’s first single, “vampire,” on June 30th. The track showcases Rodrigo’s increased maturity and bold confidence as an artist. Fans can pre-save and pre-order “vampire” and gain access to the special limited edition physical versions, which include Rodrigo’s first demo of the single, exclusive to the CD and 7″ vinyl releases.

Since her breakout single “drivers license” took the world by storm in January 2021, Rodrigo’s honest and relatable songwriting has resonated with audiences globally. The track debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and broke streaming records on platforms like Spotify, becoming the first song in history to reach 80 million streams in just seven days. With subsequent hits like “deja vu” and “good 4 u,” Rodrigo solidified her position as a pop sensation, achieving multiple Platinum certifications and chart-topping success.

“SOUR,” Rodrigo’s debut album, made history by becoming the longest-running debut album in the top 10 of the Billboard 200 in the 21st century. It also reached No. 1 in multiple countries, including the U.K., Canada, and Australia. With over 17 million albums sold worldwide and an astonishing 40 billion streams, “SOUR” received critical acclaim, earning Rodrigo the title of Best New Artist at the GRAMMY® Awards, among other accolades.

Rodrigo’s meteoric rise to fame continues to be celebrated, with numerous awards and nominations recognizing her exceptional talent. She received seven GRAMMY® nominations and took home three awards, including Best New Artist. Additionally, she was named New Artist of the Year at the American Music Awards and received multiple Billboard Awards, a Brit Award, a Juno Award, and an NME Award. Her impact extends beyond music, as her documentary film, “Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u (a SOUR film),” won Best Music Documentary at the 2022 MTV Movie & TV Awards.

In 2022, Rodrigo embarked on her first-ever world tour, delighting fans in over 40 cities across North America and Europe with sold-out shows. As anticipation builds for the release of “GUTS,” Olivia Rodrigo continues to cement her status as one of the most influential and talented artists of her generation.

Stay tuned for the release of “GUTS” on September 8th, as Olivia Rodrigo invites listeners on a journey of self-discovery and growth through her heartfelt and resonant music.
