Singer-Songwriter Devan is back with another single to make you ‘Feel Better.’ Backed with satisfying electric layers that combine with Devan’s mesmeric vocals making ‘Feel Better” a must-listen.
The lyrics of the new single make you grateful for the people close to you or wish you had that person. Devan sings of the relatable feeling of recognizing someone’s pain and wanting to help without knowing how.
“Lately, you’ve been staying up all night. Running from a feeling, not gonna win this fight. Staring through the TV, but you don’t wanna talk about it. No, you just wanna leave it. And even if I can’t understand, I just wanna make you feel better even though I know that there’s nothing to say.”
Devan continues with the assuring words of.
“You don’t have to hold it together. Ride it out beside you like we’re catching a wave. And if it takes some time to feel alright, I won’t be going anywhere ‘cause I just wanna make you feel better.”
It’s truly beautiful and deep songwriting that puts you in that scenario of wanting to help the people you care about. Devan paints a wonderful picture of the tug of war that there can be with mental health and anxiety and watching someone experience that.
The single was released with an equally beautiful visual that tells the story to accompany it.
‘Feel Better‘ is a single in a string of incredible releases from Devan, and continues to set the tone on what to expect from her forthcoming EP, “Liquid Sunshine.” Keep an eye out for its expected release date on October 15th.
Of her recent work, Devan described the reflective year and experience that helped inspire the EP.
“For me, the last year has been a big reflective time and an opportunity to look inward, and to deal with some emotions in a way I hadn’t been doing. These songs came out of me digging up a lot of experiences from years ago, and I think writing these songs has been very healing and self-actualizing.”
